Hundreds of Greyhounds and Lurchers are rescued every day in Ireland and Northern Ireland, most dont have a future there. Their only hope of finding a forever home is in the UK and luckily many UK rescues take in Irish sighthounds.

Preparing and transporting these hounds is very expensive, costing around 80 Euros for each dog, and so we hope to launch a new project to help these “highway hounds” get on their “highways to heaven”.

Through your donations we hope to be able to provide funding towards transport costs to the UK. We also hope that we will get lots of old collars and leads donated in our “any old iron” appeal, to help volunteers with the cost of providing collars and leads for the dogs they are helping to transport.

These hounds travel hundreds of miles and can only do so through the support of networks of volunteers across the country, covering 1-2 hour “legs” in the journey.
