We have been very busy this week visiting the Cork Dog Action Welfare Group in Co. Cork, Ireland.

We had a fabulous time and met all the volunteers and wonderful dogs at the sanctuary, including their gorgeous greyhounds and lurchers.

We have an exciting new venture to undertake in the new year in connection with Cork DAWG and will be opening the Bristol branch of DAWG in a new rescue kennels which we will be taking over on the 1st January. We are very excited and have already booked four gorgeous greyhound girls to be our first dogs ready for rehoming 🙂 Please take a look at the rescue website www.southwestdawg.wordpress.com

It’s a busy but exciting time as we try to get the kennels ready for their new occupants. We need to get beds, bedding/blankets, bowls, collars/leads, toys etc etc in time for their arrival. If you have any such items which you would like to donate, including used and old items, then please contact us at: action4sighthounds@gmail.com

DAWG is a totally non-profit making registered charity (Reg. Charity No. CHY18000 ), which relies completely on the generosity of its supporters and members of the public to finance kenneling, veterinary fees and transport costs to the UK.

In Ireland Cork DAWG is an organisation founded and run completely by a network of volunteers concerned with the welfare of abandoned, abused and ill-treated dogs in Cork. Through our collective experience we aim to improve the lives of Cork’s dogs and also endeavour to educate the public on dog welfare and ownership.

Bristol DAWG aims to continue their hard work in the UK by helping to home their greyhounds and lurchers and to create kennel space in their busy sanctuary by kenneling dogs here in the UK. We also aim to increase the awareness of animal welfare problems in Ireland, especially the greyhound and lurcher problems there.

Here are some of our girls arriving in January 🙂
