The rescue group Greyhound Friends of Hopkington, USA not only have a greyhound puppy in the running for the White House “first dog” ; now they have opened their own second hand shop to raise money for ex-racers.

Metro West Daily News explain:“This is an alternative source of income for us,” Coleman (Director) said, noting that New England greyhound tracks had begun closing for the season and would soon send over their slower dogs. “We’re just hoping it will be a fortuitous sort of convergence.”

Coleman said she got the shop idea from a fellow greyhound volunteer in Ireland who started a similar store with bargain-priced items.

“It’s great for the people because they get stuff and great for the charity because they get money,” she said.”
