Although Peterborough Stadium has been in the news regularly recently for the deaths of several dogs after sustaining injuries during races, they are striving to improve conditions for their wheelchair users in a bid to keep the punters coming in.

So although not deemed greyhound-friendly by campaign groups, the stadium can now accommodate wheelchair users!

The Peterborough Evening Telegraph reports: “Peterborough Greyhound Stadium, in Fengate, now has a viewing area for wheelchair users in the general seating area of the grandstand, completing special facilities for them in all three spectator areas.

Operations director Richard Perkins said: “We have always made every effort to accommodate wheelchair users who come along to enjoy a night at the dogs. There is a lift to get people up to the Raceview Restaurant, and a number of tables giving direct access for wheelchairs.”
