The Irish newspaper Independant IE also published news yesterday on the Irish Greyhound Board’s decision to control distribution of their race footage.

Part of their article reads:

“The Board decision was widely anticipated since their own website,, started showing the videos recently. It became even more certain after the Budget.

The IGB’s Head of Tote Patricia Griffin said: “As with any sports event, a significant part of future income streams will reside in the value attributed to picture rights. We are trialling betting on our racing with a number of overseas partners and control of the picture content is an important part of maintaining control of the betting product.””
